The health and safety of our community, including our dedicated volunteers remains our top priority.
To Adopt from us you Must Read Our Requirements below to Adopt Before Applying

Applicants must have their Military ID Card or your DD214 available to qualify to adopt.
- Applicants must be a minimum age of 27 years old and no older than 70 years of age* must have 2 Parrot Guardian.
- Applicants must be the head of their household. (No exception).
- We will not place any parrot with anyone who resides in a RV or a Floating home.
- Home visits are required for all adoptions, so delivery is available to most areas. Understanding that home visits are required, we are also able to deliver parrots with large cages to most areas within 100 miles of Portland. Oregon. *If you live outside this region, and additional transportation fee will be required. *If we are available.
- We will not place any parrot for breeding purposes.
- We will not allow any 2nd party adoptions. *(No gifting of adopted parrots)
- *Please be aware that there are reasonable adoption fees for each parrot which will include their cage.
- Home ownership is preferred but not mandatory, but a minimum of 1 year at current residence is required.
- Please do not call or text us about your application. If you haven’t heard back from us after 24 hours of your submission of your application, then please email us at parrotsforpatriots@gmail.com – No calls or texting please.
*Please be aware: If you currently own a Dachshund dog or any Terrier mix dog, that is currently parrot friendly, we must meet your dog prior to any placement.
* If you currently own one of these breeds of dogs that haven’t been around parrots. It’s very unlikely we will place one of our parrots with you.
*If you meet the above qualifications then submit in your adoption application, only if you’re ready to adopt within 72 hours. We will be in contact with you within 1 to 6 hours during normal business hours.

Fantastic Experience
I have just had the most fantastic experience with Parrots for Patriots. My application was answered in less than 24 hours and I met the ever so kind and professional Chris. In less than 72 hours I was the new parent of a wonderful Amazon Parrot.
Chris came with everything I needed to make my home my new birds home. Fabulous cage, a climbing tree, a pet carrier, information books, food, to include some cooked food and many other accessories. Also Chris had my birds wings, beak and nails done.
Chris then gave me the most informational tutorial on caring for my new friend. I was in awe at his vast knowledge and expertise. Overwhelmed and so very grateful I will be forever be indebted to Chris and Parrots for Patriots. I am so looking forward to many years of happiness with my bird. I just can’t tell you how pleased I am with every aspect of my dealings with Parrots for Patriots.
