Merlin is a very energetic and loving Eleanora Cockatoo.
We know that he is tame enough to be handled by the right female.
We will not place him in a home that shares walls with neighboring residences, such as apartments, condominiums, duplexes, or townhomes. Cockatoos can be quite vocal, especially during the evening hours.
Merlin is a very special Elenora Cockatoo boy. He’s semi-tame and prefers an experienced male adapter. He has had a rough couple of years but is truly a well-loved bird. He is seeking the companionship of an experienced Cockatoo companion who will give him all the TLC, affection, and attention he deserves.
Merlin has a healthy appetite and enjoys fresh fruits, vegetables, and treats. He also speaks quite a few words and loves bobbing up and down while dancing to songs with a good, strong rhythm.
We prefer that his new companion have a minimum of one year of experience handling a large cockatoo. No exceptions. Because of Merlin’s personality and preferences, we strongly believe he will thrive in a home with an experienced female companion.
We do not recommend placing Merlin in a home with children, as we have learned that he was never raised around them. While Merlin is comfortable around other birds, what he truly desires is the companionship of a devoted human.
