Cheech The Umbrella Cockatoo - Parrots For Patriots

*UPDATE* 08/02/17- We noticed a little bit of redness from Cheech’s rectum this afternoon. She is now scheduled to see her veterinarian (Dr. Litner of Avian Medical Center) this upcoming Monday, 08 07 15. If you are a LOCAL experience parrot handler and are willing to continue her care with Dr. Litner, we will allow you to adopter from us. *NO Phone calls please. submit your application first, and we will call you.

Cheech is a wonderful 15 year old female umbrella Cockatoo. Cheech has had a rough past; she came to us suffering with an injury. So, after her surgery and rehabilitation, she now is ready for her new forever home. We prefer to place Cheech in an experienced home, but parrot experience really isn’t needed with her, she is a very sweet and loving girl. Cheech does speak a bit, the favorite things she like to say is “I can Fly”. We feel that she can learn a lot more, with time and patience.

Cheech likes both men and women, and she is very gentle. Most Umbrella Cockatoos can be very loud at times, but Cheech is the exception to the rule. She is very quiet, and she loves to snuggle as well as dance.

We don’t feel comfortable placing Cheech in a home with any dachshund dog or Terrier mix dog, because both types of dogs have reputation of harming birds. We also don’t feel comfortable placing Cheech in a home with any children under the age of 17 years of age. Unless if they are well behaved. We also must meet any children under 17 before placement.
