Rupee’ aka Rupert is one very affectionate girl who is accustomed to being scratched all over her shoulders and tummy as much as possible. This is odd for most African Greys. Rupee’ was owned by a wonderful lady all of her life and she can be handled like a Cockatoo. She loves to be cuddled, and once she earns your trust she will roll over on her back, and allow you to rub her tummy.
Rupee’ was well loved by her past owner, who was home all day, so she was handled at least 6 to 8 hours a day all of her life as a full time companion.
So needless to say Rupert is very tame and sweet, don’t let her feather plucking discourage you. She has started to grow her feathers back since her arrival.
Rupee’ is one of the sweetest African Greys ever we have had in many years and she has a large vocabulary. Rupee’ has never bitten anyone. She likes both men and women.
Rupert is a good talker, she says, Hello, Hi!, Rupert step, up-up, care fall off-(Be careful Don’t Fall off) = stay on tree, no, naughty bird, shame on you, hey, what are you doing?-Meows like a cat-Called cats name Bubbles & Twit/ Twittles- Rupert does not swear. Rupert is shy at first meeting, but she warms up quickly as long as you earn her trust.
Rupee’ likes being rolled over on to her back and played with as much as possible. Rupee’ has been accustomed to being out of her cage all day, or as much as possible when your home. She likes roaming around the house, so she must be supervised when out of her cage.

Rupee’ also loves to watch TV with anyone he likes to watch the Cartoons, The Nature channel, News, Game Shows, and Sitcoms and just about anything on
Rupee’ loves to be handed treats throughout the day. She also loves fresh steamed veggies and fruit & veggies as well as cooked foods. Veggie Pasta dishes are her favorite.
Some parrot handling experience is preferred to adopt Rupee’, but not necessary, Rupee’ is very tame and sweet.

Rupee’ prefers to live in the living room where she can be the center of attention.
We’d prefer to place Rupee’ with a homeowner, but homeownership isn’t a mandatory requirement to adopt her.
