Kiwi is a very energetic, spirited, and playful boy. He is very comical at times, and he will also test you occasionally to see if you’re paying attention to him, or he may nip you.
Kiwi has a very expanded vocabulary. He will ask you to shake hands while he extends his leg through the bars to grab your finger with his claw. Then he will shake hands with your finger and talk to you. He will also say “hi” and “hello” as you approach his cage when you come back home, and he will say “goodbye” as you leave.
Kiwi is quite keen when it’s time to go to bed; he’ll say, “night nite,” “time to go to bed,” “good night,” and a few more funny things at night. He’ll also ask you questions at night.
Kiwi can be pretty hilarious and animated, but he’s not for the inexperienced. Kiwi needs an experienced handler for his next companion. We can only place Kiwi with someone who has a minimum of one year of experience with cockatoos.
Kiwi’s adoption fee also includes his large cage and our generous care package.
