Laurel and Hardy (AKA Sydney and Sheldon) are some of the most fun and entertaining African Greys we’ve had in years! We’ve only been working with them for a few weeks, and already they’ve really come out of their shells.

Sydney and Sheldon have been together their entire lives, so we can’t separate them. We call them Laurel and Hardy because they play off each other’s interactions while dancing and talking. They love watching rhythmic live music on YouTube, as well as “Bird TV.”

They’ve shared the same cage for the past 24 years, but over the last year, they began plucking each other’s feathers out of boredom.

So, we got them two A&E cages (Model #8002422). We placed the new cages side by side, and they’ve absolutely flourished. They love having their own space—no more fighting over food or attention!

Since moving into their new setup, they’ve stopped picking on each other, and their feathers are starting to grow back!

They love talking to each other, cracking jokes, and dancing together. Lately, we’ve even taught them to dance along and react to “Who Let the Dogs Out?” They both bark back in unison: “Woof Woof Woof Woof Woof!” It’s hilarious watching them enjoy each other’s company.

I can’t wait to teach them the “Who’s on First?” routine!

They truly are our very own Laurel and Hardy, thriving off each other’s reactions—and ours! Together, they speak over 20 words and phrases. They both love cartoons, Bird TV, and dancing to music.

Both are big talkers. Sheldon, who likes ladies but really loves cuddling and performing for men, is a riot! He’s a great talker and dancer, especially when showing off in front of Sydney.

Sydney is a little bit of a cry baby, but he really likes ladies, but he’s very comfortable with men too—and he’s the better talker of the two.

They both have hearty appetites and love their fresh veggie chop and fruit salad.
