Newman is currently on medical leave for the month of January and will be available at the beginning of February.
We believe Newman may be female; however she does have a couple of medical concerns.
After consulting with the doctor, we learned that Newman has permanent nerve damage to the right foot. This injury has been interfering with bowel control, so she occasionally has poor stool control. Additionally, the doctor informed us that Newman has an enlarged heart. For this reason, we are seeking a home with a quiet environment.
We are looking for someone who can take care of Newman’s special needs. To accommodate these needs, we have placed Newman in a larger 32-inch dome-top cage, which she absolutely loves! This cage allows more opportunity for exercise, as Newman enjoys climbing across the top of it for daily activity. We have also installed special flat therapy perches, which are a favorite of his/hers.
Newman has started speaking a few words. Currently, she says “Hi,” “Hello,” and “Bye-bye.” Newman has learned these words in a short amount of time, demonstrating the potential to learn many more words and phrases in the right environment.
Newman is truly a great bird and has made incredible progress in the short time we’ve have had her. We are seeking the perfect home that will continue to provide the love and care Newman has become accustomed to and deserves.
If you have the right environment for Newman and can provide the care and attention needed, please fill out your application in advance. We will get back to you as soon as possible to schedule a phone interview before arranging a meet-and-greet appointment.
Please, no advance phone calls or emails asking questions. Please be patient, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Please check your email regularly for us to schedule a time for us to talk and then set up a meet and greet appointment.
