Rio is a sweet but confused girl who was rescued from a difficult situation. She has a club foot and is a little skittish, but we can tell she’s a good girl with lots of potential.

With time and patience, Rio has the chance to become a wonderful companion. Right now, she is a bit timid and needs someone with the experience, compassion, and dedication to help her build trust and confidence. In the hands of an experienced Amazon parrot handler, we believe Rio will blossom into a loving and loyal companion.
Rio is a Double Yellow-Headed Amazon who requires tender loving care and an understanding home. She loves her fruits and veggies, especially bananas, and she knows her name—she’ll even say “Hello, Rio” occasionally! Having spent most of her life cage-bound, she needs someone willing to give her the freedom and time to adjust to a new and better life.
Rio’s ideal adopter is someone with prior Amazon parrot experience who can patiently earn her trust. Her adoption fee is $125, which includes her cage and a generous $300 care package.
