Scartlet was feather plucked when she arrived. She is growing her feathers back now, and needs a loving home.
Scarlett is a wonderful and tamed Congo African grey who enjoys the company of both men and women. She recently lost her companion due to separation anxiety and has been plucking quite a bit as a result. We have discovered that she needs either the company of another bird or a companion who can spend quality time with her daily. More photos coming soon.
She has a very good appetite and loves to whistle and talk to her companion. Scarlett has a vast vocabulary and has picked up quite a few new words since she’s been with us. Currently, Scarlett says hi, hello, I love you, good morning, mimics the sound of a kiss, cell phones, microwave, and even the stove igniter. She has also learned to mimic the sound of her old roommate, a cockatiel. She’s a quick learner and enjoys making up her own tunes to whistle and sing to get attention, which demonstrates her intelligence.
Scarlett adores classical music, marching band music (she’ll even march to it), rock and roll, and catchy Irish music, both traditional and modern.
